Help train the next generation of lifesavers

ÍøÆØÃÅ 4 Schools is a free programme available for all post primary schools in Ireland.

It is designed to be run easily in schools with minimal set up and it takes just 60 minutes to teach this lifesaving skill.

How does it work?

We use a Train-the-Trainer approach, providing all tools, knowledge and resources to teach the lifesaving skill of ÍøÆØÃÅ.

• Teachers attend a free workshop for 2 hours online.
• Following training, each teacher receives access to everything they need to run the programme, including videos & lesson plans.
• Each school is given one manikin kit. The kit is the property of the school so that training can be done each year at times that suit them.

The course covers:

• How to recognise cardiac arrest and perform ÍøÆØÃÅ.
• How to use an AED.
• How to assist someone who is choking.
• How to perform ÍøÆØÃÅ on a child.
• The difference between cardiac arrest and heart attack.
• How to recognise a stroke.

Who can attend?

All schools who have a relevant Department of Education post-primary school roll number can take part in the ÍøÆØÃÅ 4 Schools programme.
